Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences

Through education, research and development, Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, Finland, prepares professionals for business and services. We offer our students a versatile choice of studies, great opportunities for specialisation, high-quality education in Finnish and English, and wide business networks even during the studies. Our approximately 10 500 students and 640 employees base their activities on highly advanced national and international expertise.

Haaga-Helia is part of the Finnish public educational system. It is privately run but steered and co-funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. Our fields of education are business, hotel, restaurant and tourism management, information technology, journalism, management assistant training, sports management and vocational teacher education. Thirteen degree programmes are completely taught in English. Every tenth Haaga-Helia degree student is international.

Haaga-Helia has a strong international focus, and we have signed cooperation agreements with 200 institutions of higher education in Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America. The international cooperation takes many forms: student, teacher and staff mobility, double degree programmes, curriculum cooperation and research, development and innovation. Haaga-Helia sends over 600 students on student exchange or internship abroad every year through its mobility programmes and welcomes some 330 exchange students.

Haaga-Helia has strong links and close cooperation with the industry.

Haaga-Helia’s research, development and innovation activities are based on three strategic focus areas: (1) Service concepts and sales, (2) Business applications, new business opportunities and ICT facilitating business and (3) New learning solutions.
